My approach
The Killing the Idea Method.
The name is deliberately challenging. The purpose is constructive: question the assumptions behind an idea before they become expensive commitments. Critique the idea—not the person who believes in it.
01
Understand the intention
What problem should this solve? What matters to you and to your customers?
02
Challenge the assumptions
What would have to be true? What evidence would change your mind?
03
Examine the whole business
Customer demand, competitive alternatives, commercial viability, delivery capacity and operational constraints belong in the same conversation.
04
Choose a better-informed next step
Refine, test, pause or proceed with explicit uncertainties. A recommendation is not a guarantee.
“I’d rather help an entrepreneur discover a serious weakness before investing their savings than see them discover it after the consequences have become difficult to reverse.”
Independent study of human behavior, decision-making and communication informs my questions. It does not make this a psychological assessment, legal service or regulated financial recommendation. Within the Reset, we agree one appropriate operational focus; broader strategy requires its own scope.
